This is a Large Solid Glass Bulldog Doorstop. The Color is Bonnie Blue. There were only 154 produced. The mould used to make this Bulldog is an Original Westmoreland Glass Company mould. The Bulldogs vary slightly in height and weight. They weigh somewhere between 4 1/2 – 6 lbs each and are between 5 1/2″ – 7″ in height. This variation in height and weight is due to the “Handmade Process”. The skilled craftsman, known as the presser, determines how much glass is placed into the mould each time a bulldog is made. The first color is Black Amethyst Carnival – there were only 125 produced. It was made May 22, 2007. Each Bulldog will have Glass Eyes, will be engraved with the Rosso Logo, Serial Numbered and Dated. Purchase 11 Bulldogs and get the 12th one FREE !! The mould used to make this “Limited Edition” Bulldog dates back to the early 1900’s. It is an Original Westmoreland Glass Company mould. The bulldogs will vary slightly in height and weight, weighing in somewhere between 4 1/2 – 6 lbs each. The bulldog will vary between 5 1/2″ – 7″ in height. This variation in height and weight is due to the “Handmade Process”. The skilled craftsman, known as the presser, determines how much glass is placed into the mould each time a bulldog is made. The name, Keystone Egg & Cream Beater, alone will tell you how old the mould used to make this piece of glass is. The only place you may find one of these is in your kitchenware books. It is a Large 3-Cup Size. It is 6 1/4″ x 4 1/2″. They were probably only made in crystal back then. Can you imagine, this mould probably sat on a shelf over a 100 years without being used! When we had this first color made, the mould didn’t need any kind of mould work whatsoever. This is unbelievable! There is a metal lid and beaters that we are trying to have made, which may take a few months. For now though, we are selling the bottoms only. When you buy this piece you are buying a piece of Westmoreland Glass History!
